Ghost light are a theatre production team with over 15 years expertise in Musical Theatre, Physical and Mask Theatre, sound, lighting, set design, theatrical makeup and costume design. Our services include workshops, performance opportunities, costume hire and examination tuition as well as educational consultancy and school improvement advice in music, drama and performing arts.
We offer three principle forms of production for performers aged 14-18: specialist Mask and Physical theatre (audition only), Musical Theatre (audition only) and Pantomime (open to all performers)
As an educational team we have worked through several Ofsted inspections, each time having been judged outstanding and exemplary in our innovative approach to curriculum implementation and enrichment design. We offer expertise in the development and improvement of music, drama and performing arts.
Directors
Sarah Wright
BA (Hons), MA (drama), PGCE
Sarah specialises in physical theatre, mask theatre and devising and has extensive experience in directing many musical theatre productions. She is a Talent Rep for the National Theatre and West Midlands Drama Rep for Drama Matters magazine. She has trained alongside contemporary groups such as Frantic Assembly, Trestle Theatre and StrangeFace Masks and has 18 years experience in teaching GCSE drama, Post 16 courses in Drama and Performing Arts. She holds a Masters degree in drama and mask theatre and is a drama examiner for AQA, a specialist leader in education (drama/performing arts) and Head of Drama at a school in the West Midlands.
Chris Long
BA (Hons), M.Mus, Phd, PGCE
Chris has directed young performers in musical theatre productions for over 20 years. He works with amateur and professional musical performance groups across the UK. He is an award winning composer (PRS/BASCA British Composer Award), an award winning and international selling visual artist and brings his extensive knowledge and experience from several artistic disciplines to the professional values of Ghost Light. His doctoral research explored best working practice between composers and amateur music groups. He is a specialist leader in education (music/performing arts) and Director of Music and Performing Arts at a school in the West Midlands. He has extensive experience teaching BTEC, A Level and GCSE performing arts and music.
